Petition on Immigration, Board Management and Labour Law Compliance

Sector: Politics and unions Sector News
Country: South Africa

A petition by #MarchandMarch that started over 1 year ago has gathered over 15,163 signatures and counting, as the movement stays at the forefront of conversations on illegal immigration, lawlessness by foreign nationals, and injustices that these foreign nationals commit against the citizens of South Africa, such as drug dealing, human trafficking, and fraudulent or unlawful acquisition of documentation. South Africans complain that resources earned by citizens are unfairly distributed to foreigners, and that this undermines the economy and increases crime dramatically. They are calling on the Government of South Africa to increase enforcement of immigration laws and impose tougher penalties for those found guilty of such offenses. They aim to protect the region, resources, and the people of South Africa. They call on all South Africans to sign this petition to preserve sovereignty.

Petition update: On 18 June 2026 this petition was referred to portfolio committee on home affairs, human settlement, correctional services and employment and labour for consideration and report.
