Lenacapavir, a twice-yearly injection for HIV prevention, to help reduce new infections in South Africa.

What You Need to Know

  1. How it works: Lenacapavir is administered as an injection twice a year.
  2. Cost: It is available free of charge at selected government clinics.
  3. Availability: The injection is currently offered at 360 public clinics across 6 provinces:
  • Gauteng
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Eastern Cape
  • Mpumalanga
  • North West
  • Western Cape
